The beach, accessed by crossing a railway
crossing, is a long stretch of white sand, fairly popular with body
boarders, and a pleasant walk along the beach will take you to Fish
Hoek - a great family beach.
You’re right in the suburbs of Cape Town here and yet Clovelly manages
to have an appealing country quality about it. The neighbourhood is upmarket
and homes sell for over R2.5 million, yet the suburb lies on the mountain
slope above the beach with beautiful views of False Bay and the Clovelly
Valley below, surrounded by dunes and some wonderful stretches of indigenous
fynbos, which has earned the area its rural reputation.

Clovelly
golf course lies in this picturesque valley and has been carefully shaped
to complement the coastal environment, and guinea fowl Egyptian Geese
and grey Ibises as well as natural sand dunes make it a tranquil but stimulating
experience.
From Clovelly you are close to Kommetjie and Scarborough - a beautiful
coastal drive - pop into Imhoff farm on your way. And Cape Point and the
Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve offer a wonderful outing, with over 1
000 indigenous plant species on display, at least 250 species of bird,
a number of buck and baboons as well as some beautiful beaches.
